The following areas summarize our experience:
EmbedICs' main focus is IC Design as it pertains to the data security
market. Our engineers have experience with the following ASIC fabs:
IBM, Infineon, ST, Philips, AMI, UTMC, Honeywell and Atmel. We are
comfortable developing custom security cores including symmetric and
public key processors and integrating these with a variety of
microprocessors on silicon or as standalone components.
EmbedICs engineers have a great deal of experience developing high assurance
systems that are resistant to a variety of reverse engineering techniques.
We have also spent considerable time reverse engineering for the purposes of
security analysis. We incorporate logic that detects invasive and non-invasive
attacks and also include methods to make attacks commercially infeasible.
EmbedICs works closely with the industry leading camouflage library design
team and the target foundry to jointly develop an appropriate cell library.
This work is usually performed in parallel with a leading failure
analysis and reverse engineering team.
We have designed custom Operating Systems (OS) for ARM and PowerPC RISC
processors and 8051 based variants for the control of cryptographic modules.
These modules include: randomizers, encryption/decryption circuitry, multipliers,
hash algorithms, and Input/Output (I/O) controllers. We also have considerable
experience in DSP algorithm development and optimization on a variety of
platforms.
We have significant experience with both Government and Commercial algorithm
designs, the theory of evaluation, statistical modeling and implementation of
the algorithms both in software and hardware. Our COMSEC experience extends
to Multiple Precision Arithmetic Architectures and Designs, Public Key
Protocol implementation and randomizer architectures to system level products.
We have designed numerous COMSEC systems from Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
to military Command & Control. These systems varied from data in the form of
secure e-mail and data to secure voice applications for both Government and
Commercial systems.
EmbedICs has considerable knowledge of Space-based system implementation
issues as well as experience with interpretation of radiation testing results.
This experience includes SEU and Total dose issues and implementation of
Space-based systems, knowledge of current FPGA technologies for space and
radiation effects mitigation techniques including TMR and configuration
scrubbing.
EmbedICs' engineers and management have demonstrated experience in the
successful development of secure platforms for conditional access systems.
These platforms have withstood many extremely, well funded adversaries and
have been hack-free since October 2001. We have also developed high-volume
manufacturing systems and procedures to securely program common and
chip-unique data into programmable ASICs for both the federal government
and commercial industry.
